I am a freelance multimedia journalist, communications writer, documentary producer and researcher. I specialize in science writing and factual documentaries. Over the years I have covered a variety of stories, from a new shíshálh family’s digital facial reconstruction exhibit at the Museum of History in Ottawa to international advancements in machine learning.
How did I get here?
When visiting family in South Africa as a child, I would climb along rocky tidal pools and stare in wonder at the creatures that lived there. I began to dive into books and magazines to learn more about the world. I went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Arts and Science at the University of Guelph, specializing in English and Biological Sciences.
The more I learned, the more I wanted to work in story telling and make science accessible in an engaging way. I left Ontario to complete a Master degree in journalism from the University of British Columbia, completing internships at digital news, TV, and magazine organizations.
I am currently living in Vancouver, B.C. Recently I finished work on “WOMEN WHO ROCK,” a four-episode docu-series that pays homage to the legion of fearless women artists who have stormed the stage, wielded their instruments, and sung the soundtracks of our lives.
